About us
Lane End Farm Trust is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty in the Peak District National Park in North Derbyshire. We provide a simple environment of real quality where disabled and disadvantaged young people can be at one with nature and connect with their surroundings and our animals.
We cater for young people from all walks of life with learning difficulties and behavioural problems. We currently work with children and young people from the ages of 8 to 25 years. When considering applications from agencies or individuals we always consider the needs of every young person in offering placements, considering any disability, learning or behavioural need, in order that they are placed within a learning group and environment where they will feel safe, and their individual needs can be met.
We offer placements that require one to one supervision or a carer to be in attendance. Every application for a placement at Lane End Farm Trust will be carefully considered and planned to ensure that the individual needs of the young person are met.

On site we have two large indoor spaces that allows us to do our written work for qualifications, play therapy and arts and crafts, heated by cosy log burners in the winter months.
We also have two blocks of stables, a large indoor/outdoor area for the guinea pigs and rabbits and a large barn where we have our woodcraft area and store hay/straw for winter, a Victorian greenhouse and a newly fitted kitchen.
We have an excellent track record of getting our young people back into education as well as participating in extracurricular activities in the community such as Young Farmers. We do this through building confidence and reducing anxiety levels through our calming therapeutic approach to learning.
Many of our students have gone onto further education after realising which career path they would like to take and feeling confident enough to know they can do it.
Young people are helped through the provision of excellent indoor and outdoor activities, including horticultural projects, animal care, cooking, equine, dog grooming, play therapy and wood work, more information on the activities offered can be found in the activities section on the web site. Personal development is encouraged through interaction with our staff, other young people and the animals throughout the day during and during various projects. We offer educational opportunities using the AQA unit award scheme, Asdan and various diplomas for those wishing to gain qualifications. We work closely with local schools to provide a unique and enriching experiences for our service users and maintain positive relationships with professionals within educational and social care.
